Step 1: We’ll send you your promo code by email or physical mail. If you haven’t received it by March 20th, reach out to us and we’d be happy to give you your code.

Step 2: Shave the LUV! Talk to your family or coworkers about membership, the benefits, great rates, and what stands out to you. Encourage your referral to fill out a membership application.

Step 3: Let us know who you’re referring.

Step 4: Once your referral opens their account and funds it with $5, you’ll be entered into a drawing for $250 or other prizes.

Step 5: Keep referring! The more people you refer and open accounts, the more chances you have to win.

Step 1: If you’ve been talking to someone who is already a SWACU member and they gave you their promo code, keep that handy.

Step 2: Fill out a membership application. When you get to the section “How did you hear about us?” Make sure to select the “Membership Referral Promo” option AND enter the promo code (image below).

Step 3: Be on the lookout for emails from our team, in case they need additional information from you.

Step 4: If approved, fund your savings account with $5. Once you’ve been a member for 90 days, and your account has remained in good standing, you’ll also be entered into a $250 or other prize drawing. So, the person who referred you can win and so can you!



We’re doing a drawing each month during this promotion, just for you referring new members to us! All accounts will need to be open and funded for 90 days before we do the drawing.

For example:

Our member, Sabrina, refers her brother Mike as part of the promo. Mike opens his account and funds it with $100 by April 15th. Both Sabrina and Mike are eligible for a drawing that is held on July 1, 2024.

Who can become a member of SWACU?
There are two primary avenues for eligibility to become a member of SWACU:

  • Membership Through Your Employer
    You may be eligible for membership through your employer. SWACU has a diverse range of Select Employee Groups (SEGs) in our Field of Membership, comprising over 200 options that offer credit union membership eligibility to their employees and members. If you're unsure about your eligibility, don't hesitate to reach out to your friendly Human Resources Representative for more information.
  • Membership Through Your Family
    Immediate family and household members, including spouses, siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren, are eligible for membership. If you have any questions regarding family eligibility, feel free to contact one of our helpful Member Service Representatives. We're here to assist you!

How do I get my promo code?
You should receive your unique promo code via email or by letter. If you have not received your code by March 20th, contact us and we’d be happy to provide your code.




Referral Program Disclosures 

*To qualify for the Referral Program, all members must be at least 18 years of age and in good standing with Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union (“SWACU”). SWACU will assign each member a referral code and communicate it via its different communication channels. When you share your promo code, you reveal that you are a member of Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union. Any person you refer to SWACU (“Referral”) must use the promo code for to be eligible for drawing. 


*You can refer immediate family, such as spouses, brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren; as well as active coworkers at one of our eligible Select Employee Groups (“SEGs”). Referrals who apply under a SEG will be verified through their HR department as necessary. You can submit unlimited number of Referrals, but the Referral must apply, open and fund their account with $5.00 in order for you to receive an entry into the drawing. You can win more than once. You cannot refer yourself and open additional accounts. 


*For an entry into the drawing, the Referral must be a new SWACU member and use a promo provided by one, current SWACU member during the current Referral Program period. If the Referral is a returning member, you will not receive an entry into the drawing. Referral must keep account open for at least 90 days and in good standing to avoid paying an account closure fee. The winner of the drawing will be randomly generated every month during promotional periods and paid out 90 days after. 


*Do not share your account number and any personal identifiable information (PII). Any cash winnings from the promotion can be considered dividends and may be reported on an IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1099-MISC, if applicable). The Referral Program offer is not valid with any other offers or promotions. Additional restrictions may apply.
