Health Benefits

All full-time employees are eligible for benefit coverage beginning the first of the month following 60 days of service, unless otherwise noted.

Medical Coverage

Currently, we offer employees and their families a choice between two medical plans.  SWACU strives to offer comprehensive medical insurance at the lowest possible cost, which is why we even provide a plan that is FREE to our employees*!  

Dental Coverage

To provide our employees and their families with coverage for complete dental care and protection, we offer two dental plans to choose from.  This includes an option that is FREE for our employees*! 

Vision Coverage

Vision care is an available option for employees and their families.  The coverage has an extensive network of providers and is offered FREE to our employees*!

Health Care Flexible Spending Account

Employees can set aside pre-tax dollars each calendar year to cover eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, including deductibles, co-pays and coinsurance.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account

Through the Dependent Care FSA program, employees can have pre-tax dollars deducted from their paycheck to pay for eligible dependent care expenses.

Short-Term Disability

Employees who are unable to work because of a qualifying disability due to an illness or injury are covered under the Short-Term Disability plan.  This is company paid and is FREE for our employees! 

Long-Term Disability

All employees are included in the Long-Term Disability plan that assists when a disability causes an employee to be unable to work for an extended period of time.  This plan is paid by SWACU and is FREE for our employees!

Basic Life Insurance

SWACU provides all employees Basic Term Life Insurance for FREE!  Employees may purchase additional Voluntary Life Insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)

AD&D coverage is also available as another way to provide protection in cases of serious injury or death resulting from an accident.  SWACU provides this coverage FREE to our employees!

Financial Benefits

We offer employees exceptional retirement programs so they can plan for the future and can be comfortable in retirement.

401 (k) Plan

Save for retirement through our 401(k) Plan with pre-tax or Roth contributions.  SWACU has a handsome employer match as well.  Employees are eligible after 90 days of service, and can choose from a broad spectrum of investment options, and rollover any eligible funds from a previous employer.

Pension Plan

The SWACU Pension Plan has been adopted to provide our employees with additional income for retirement.  This defined benefit plan is funded entirely by SWACU!  Employees become eligible after 6 months of service and are fully vested in just 5 years!

PTO

SWACU provides an extremely generous personal time off (PTO) allowance and we strongly encourage employees to use it for rest and relaxation.

Holidays

In addition to our generous paid time off, SWACU also offers 12 paid holidays each year.  That’s an additional 2 ½ weeks of paid time off!

Fun Flight Crew

This is a group of employees that get together and plan FUN and EXCITING events and activities for all of our employees!  Some of the fun activities include potlucks and cookouts, unique holidays like National Pickle Day, and other fun events like Silly Hat Day! 

You Rock! And Impressions

Our on-line employee recognition program is called “Impressions”.  Anytime an employee receives positive feedback, from a member or co-worker, they receive an Impression.  At the end of each month all of the Impressions submitted are reviewed and someone will be selected as the You Rock Employee of the Month!

SWACU Bucks

Basically it’s SWACU money that can be used at our SWACU Store to purchase items.  SWACU Bucks are given to employees in recognition for helping others and going above and beyond.

SWACU Store

This is a place for employees to purchase SWACU attire and additional logo’d items.  Purchases can be made through payroll deduction or with SWACU bucks.

Casual Dress Code

It’s Casual Friday everyday!  No suits or ties around here! 

Training & Development

Employee growth is an important task for SWACU.  We value learning across all branches and we strive to empower our employees with development options. 

Classroom and Online Trainings

SWACU’s Training Department provides technical, personal and professional development opportunities through classroom and online formats.

Tuition Reimbursement

SWACU provides employees reimbursement for eligible educational expenses for those who want to enhance their professional development and skills related to our business.

Community Outreach

SWACU strives to make a positive difference in the communities we serve.

Salvation Army

Multiple times a year, SWACU partners with the Salvation Army on projects that give back to those in need.

Carter Blood Care

Twice a year, the Carter Blood Care bus is onsite as a convenience for employees and members to donate blood.

Shred Day

SWACU hosts an annual Shred Day so our employees and members can protect their personal and financial information by securely shredding the documents onsite!
