How To Become a Member
Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union's Field of Membership is a common bond of people. There are two ways to become a member: through your employer or through a family member. Retaining membership is just as easy: Simply keep a Membership Savings Account open with a minimum balance of $50.
Membership Through Your Employer/Organization
You may be eligible for membership through an organization to which you belong, such as your work, group, church, etc. We currently have over 150 Select Employee Groups (SEG) in our Field of Membership that offer credit union membership eligibility to their employees and members. If you are unsure if you are eligible, you can contact our Business Development Representative at 1-800-262-5325 or check this list. Also, see how your employer can join!
Membership Through Your Family
When we say credit union membership is like being family, we mean it literally. If any member of your immediate family has membership with SWACU, then you can become a member as well. Likewise, you can pass membership on to anyone in your immediate family. This includes spouses, brothers/sisters, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren.
Once your family members have joined, their spouses and their spouses' family members are also eligible. So, you see, it gets to be one big happy family enjoying superior financial accounts, services, and flexibility.
